Kenyan electric bus startup BasiGo has received a $3 million investment from CFAO Group, a major player in distribution in Africa. This capital injection will allow BasiGo to accelerate the production and delivery of its electric buses in Kenya and Rwanda, two key markets for its development.

Founded in 2017, BasiGo has already established itself as a key player in the electric bus market in Africa. The startup has already deployed a fleet of over 100 electric buses in Kenya and Rwanda, and it has received orders from several cities in the region, including Nairobi, Kigali, and Dar es Salaam. CFAO’s investment will allow BasiGo to strengthen its production capacity, which will increase to 200 buses per year by 2025. The CFAO Group will also bring its expertise in logistics and maintenance, which will help ensure BasiGo’s long-term success.
